Out of the many cloud storage providers out there it’s really hard to find the right one for you. Of course there are lots of things to think about when shopping around for the right provider; price is a big one of course, but features and what you’ll be allowed to do with your data, and of course the security of your files (this is why you choose to use cloud storage after all isn’t it?). One of the most popular providers is called Sugarsync. Sugarsync is most well known for being perhaps the most diversified cloud storage providers out there. Where most cloud storage providers fail in file-syncinc, Sugarsync succeeds; this is where Sugarsync out-matches all the other cloud storage providers.
Sugarysync is supported on mobile platforms, but is only supported on Mac and Windows; if you’re a Linux user than unfortunately you are out of luck. It’s a multiple-device desktop software whereas most others are only single-device. Sugarsync also will take care of your files as it is one of the most secure programs on the market. There have been issues in the past of cloud storage providers being compromised, but Sugarsync takes care of your files with their 128-bit SSL encryption.
Of course file-syncing is where they stride. Sugarsync offers real-time backup and most importantly it’s fast. However, the only real fault I can see in Sugarsync is the pricing. You can for sure find cheaper providers out there, but you can’t find the security, file-syncing abilities, and speed that Sugarsync offers. For $7.49 a month you can get 60GB. For $2.50 more than that you can get 100GB. If you want something bigger, like 250GB, then the price goes up to $24.99 a month. Their largest plan, the business plan which offers 1000GB, is $550 a year. As you can see the pricing can be problematic, but if you’re serious about your cloud storage than Sugarsync is definitely the way to go.
